TORRESOLAR since its foundation in 2003 has made more that 100 Photovoltaic and Solar Thermal Projects . Specialized in Engineering Services for isolated locations, in many cases makes also the installation of systems up to its commissioning In Argentina there nor exists yet the possibility of selling of energy originated in distributed small sites to the network, so all sou installations have been made in isolated sites. Our goal is to enter in photovoltaic projects in an early phase and add value to the process, making them economical and technical feasible projects. Photovoltaic Energy
Photovoltaic Generation is based on the direct conversion of light radiant energy in electric energy. The “Photovoltaic Effect” takes advantage of the capacity of certain materials (like silicone) to liberate itself directionally or spatially to separate loaded particles through the light energy. The term “photovoltaic” refers to the electric generation of energy through sun light
Together with Eolic energy, photovoltaic energy offers certain investments advantages in the field of “renewable energy sources”. For this reason, TORRESOLAR is working in this field during the last years and nowadays is active in the area of design, financing and installation of solar generation plants.

Eolic Proyects
Eolic energy is in many countries a significant portion of electric generation. The demand of renewable energies sector has grown very much and the number of installation is ever multiplying all over the world and also in the Region.
Until 2009 it were installed more than 38,000 Eolic Megawatts in the world, and present studies foresee up to 40.000 annual MW of new installations in forthcoming years. This development is strongly influenced by USA as far as fast growing markets as China and India. Also in the Latin-America Region is perceived a great level of development, recent auctions in Argentina, Brazil, Peru and Uruguay will possibility the installation of 3.000 MW in forthcoming years.
Taking into consideration this trends, TORRESOLAR has establish cooperation agreements with local and foreign partners. Among others, TORRESOLAR is presently involved in the development of Eolic projects in Chile, Uruguay and Argentina.
TORRESOLAR, with the support of its partners, offers all the services from the beginning of the planning and operation of the Eolic farm, up to the financing and construction of the Project as far as its operation and maintenance.

Jorge Torres | President / Founder
With a Degree in Engineering and Post Grades in Administration in Harvard and Columbia, Jorge Torres has an extensive track record in Energy, Telecommunications and Management. He has successfully led complex Engineering and Construction Projects within first line organizations as Siemens AG, General Electric and Perez Companc Group of Argentina. He has been Advisor of the Economy Ministry in Argentina Government and is currently advisor of PNUD. Having worked for several years in different countries of Latin-American as Venezuela, Honduras. Ecuador, Colombia. Uruguay, and others, his business acumen and connections are well-recognized and established in the entire region.
Daniel Pelayo | Associate
Daniel has 37 years experience in entrepreneur activities in Latin-American and USA, most of the time within the Energy area of GE. With a degree in Electrical Engineering of Rosario University, has made Post Grade at Duke University and in Crottonville GE Center, USA. Daniel worked 22 years for GE in USA, Argentina and regional positions in all countries in LA. He has worked also by Acindar (Steel), Agua y Energía Eléctrica (National Utility), Siemens AG, SADE and Black & Decker. Daniel was a Board Member at Nahuelsat and President of GE Lighting, of GE/PII Oil & Gas in Argentina and Venezuela. Having retired of GE in May 2007 is dedicated from since to commercial activities and collaborating with TORRESOLAR in several ventures.
